Assessment centres and presentations
Part of the Management Trainee learning and recruiting path. Read the explanation and example, attempt the task, then open the self-check.
Know what to learn for your role.
From foundations to a work sample, with sources, tasks and self-checks.
Understand
Clarify the decision, timing and materials. Agree a structure, use evidence, invite input, handle disagreement and synthesise. Solo practice helps delivery but cannot verify group behaviour.
Worked example
A self-designed 30-minute practice could allocate 5 minutes to reading, 10 to analysis, 8 to options and 7 to synthesis. This is not an employer-prescribed format.
Examples and numbers are educational, not employer questions, live market data or hiring criteria.
Practise and keep your output
With at least one partner, compare two business options and deliver a one-page recommendation plus a five-minute presentation. Observe specific contributions.
Keep inputs and sources, assumptions, steps, results and uncertainties in your own document. Attempt independently before checking below.
After attempting: answer and self-check
Include evidence, tradeoffs, risks and next steps. Review behaviours rather than equating speaking frequency with leadership.
