The role and the cycle

JPMorgan's Hong Kong investment banking summer analyst programme, 2026 intake. Application in March 2025, Superday in June 2025.

I cleared every stage and was not extended an offer. This experience is published because failure reports are the rarest and most useful ones, and because the same contributor later converted a Morgan Stanley Superday — the comparison is the point.

How the process actually ran

Applied 30 March 2025. Online assessment mid-April. HireVue late April. First-round interviews mid-May. Superday mid-June. Rejection email eleven days later.

Every stage until the Superday went smoothly. The failure was concentrated in one interview and one topic.
