ITF — STEM Internship Scheme eligibility
Read the official rules of the Innovation and Technology Fund STEM Internship Scheme: who can join, which universities and research centres take part, and the monthly allowance capped at 90 days an academic year.
Hong Kong institution, statutory body or programme published for Hong Kong; individual services, eligibility and dates must be checked.
Recommended next action
Find the scheme contact listed for your university on this page and ask whether your programme and intake year are covered.
Access and scope
The public scheme page is free to read. The internship itself is a paid placement — the student does not pay to join; individual institutions cap the arrangement.

What to check at source
Participating institutions include the nine universities, government-funded R&D Centres and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and each may add its own requirements. Non-local students may take internships in Hong Kong only, subject to their visa or entry permit conditions. The published allowance cap and 90-day limit apply per academic year.
